The Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism discussed the draft Recommendations of the parliamentary hearings entitled “On participation of the youth in the social life: economic activity”

The document includes proposals of people’s deputies, central and local executive authorities and local self-government authorities, youth and children’s NGOs, voiced on November 20, 2013 during the hearings.

Particularly, participants of the hearings stressed necessity to recommend that the President of Ukraine include proposals on decreasing age limits of the youth from 35 to 28 years into the text of Strategy for developing state youth policy for the period until 2020.  

The Cabinet of Ministers is suggested to fund the State programme of ensuring the youth with accommodation for 2013-2017 in full; elaborate a state standard of higher education “List of qualifications” complied with the “List of disciplines and specialities” according to respective educational and qualification levels; etc.

Local executive authorities and local self-government authorities shall ensure approval of estimated figures of providing the youth with their first job; cooperation with the employer in creation of new jobs for the youth, etc.

Following results of the discussion, the Committee adopted the decision to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approve Recommendations with a respective resolution adopting it as a basis and in entirety.
