To the veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
citizens of the city of Odesa
Dear friends!
I sincerely congratulate you on a memorable date – the 70th liberation anniversary of Odesa from fascist invaders.
The Great Patriotic War has become a stern and severe test for our people. It has brought enormous suffering, devastation and grief onto the Odesa land; it has extinguished life of thousands of citizens of the city and destroyed industrial enterprises, economic facilities, and people’s homes. However, the city managed to stand out, having proved steadfastness of Odesa’s citizens and their loyalty to Homeland.
Today, on the day of a glorious jubilee, we honor the feat of Odesa’s liberators, who at the cost of enormous efforts, self-sacrifice and courage have liberated their native land from the enemy. Valor of heroes is an example of patriotism, selfless civil devotion, moral courage and firm belief in the sacred righteousness of your cause.
I wish dear veterans, all citizens of South Palmyra peace, well-being, welfare and long years of happy life.
