Captain of the second rank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viacheslav Demianenko was released from captivity. This was announced by Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on Wednesday during a TV programme “Shuster LIVE”.
Oleksandr Turchynov claimed that Ukrainian government makes every effort not to “leave any soldiers or officers in the Crimea”.
According to him, as of now there are approximately 1500 Ukrainian military men in the Crimea. Oleksandr Turchynov stated that military units are being repositioned; the government is working on returning all military equipment from the Crimea, is evacuating families of the military, and is creating descent living conditions for them and providing them with jobs.
“The Crimea will not be a peninsula for vacation of the Russian military. It will be a terrible problem for Russia which is already now in international isolation, and the Crimea will lead to the fall of Putin’s regime”, he claimed. “The Crimea was, is and will be a Ukrainian land”.
