Most people on the Maidan were killed with weapons of law-enforcement agencies. This was announced by acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov at the opening of the 21st meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Replying to the European MPs offers of assistance in investigating crimes committed on the Maidan, Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that the Ukrainian Party will be grateful for any assistance in this issue “with participation of international experts as well.”
“Our investigators are interested not only in persons of killers but also in those who gave orders to kill”, he said, stressing that he thinks the order to kill peaceful citizens was the biggest crime of the former government.
According to Oleksandr Turchynov, it is possible that investigation will be conducted not as quickly as they would like it to be “but the truth about the killers and their hirers will be made public”.
“We will bring this investigation to a final end, and the final end of it will be when all killers and their hirers will be sitting on prisoner’s dock”, he summed up.
