In the course of the meeting, the Parties discussed current developments in Ukraine, having attached special attention to military aggression and occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation.
According to Oleksandr Turchynov, new authority received extremely negative heritage from its predecessors “economy and the system of executive authority was totally destroyed in the country.”
“We take systemic moves in the direction to stabilization of situation,” he said, adding that despite aggression of the Russian Federation that hinders development, Ukraine will not stop moving in the direction to democratization, reformation and joining the “family of European countries”.
In this context, the Parties agreed that establishment of “visa free
regime for Ukrainians” should be the next step after signing the Association
Agreement. In his turn, Stefan Fule stressed that “with his behavior, President Putin attacked fundamental principles of international system of security and stability.”
“We are intended to close cooperation with Ukraine to prevent him from making yet greater mistakes,” he added.
