If the world wants to help Ukraine, there is an effective way – to substitute Russian goods with Ukrainian ones.

This was announced today by acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov during the meeting with Chair of Counsil of Yalta European Strategy, former President of the Republic of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski.

In the course of meeting, the Parties discussed situation in Ukraine and the issue on future YES (Yalta European Strategy) forum.

In words of Oleksandr Turchynov, today under extremely difficult conditions the new government is dealing with overcoming deep economic and socio-political crisis. “We have initiated real efficient changes in the country. However, the movement we would like to accelerate is now being decelerated by the Russian Federation’s aggression”, he added.

Moreover, Oleksandr Turchynov claimed the government is working on creating conditions for attracting investments to Ukraine.

“Our task is to create conditions in order for Ukrainian economy to be interesting for those who want to invest in it, create new plants and jobs”, he said.

Oleksandr Turchynov also stressed that assistance of Europe, of the EU and of other civilized countries of the world, who are against Russian aggression in the Crimea, and who are introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation “regarding substituting Russian goods with Ukrainian ones in connection with the fact that Russia is carrying out not only military aggression but also economic war against Ukraine”, can be efficient.

Also the Chair of the Parliament favoured President A. Kwasniewski’s idea not to change the name of the Yalta forum as the “occupation of the Crimea is temporary.”

A. Kwasniewski informed that next Yalta European Strategy forum will be held in Kyiv in September 11-13, 2014.

“As of now the issue of Ukraine in the world is number one. There has never been such interest to Ukraine in the whole history”, said A. Kwasniewski.

The Parties agreed that present developments in Ukraine are a test for the whole world.

“Present developments in Ukraine are a challenge for the future of the whole world”, summed up Oleksandr Turchynov, adding that he hopes for a clear stand of strategic partners of our country regarding support of Ukraine.
