According to him, meetings, recently taking place in these regions, were peaceful “despite the attempts and tasks of enemies of our country, occupational troops and those who take political decisions on destabilization of situation in Eastern and Southern regions of Ukraine in order to seize administrative buildings.”
“The authority has shown that it controls the situation, which is extremely important,” said Oleksandr Turchynov. “None of the buildings that were planned to be seized, actually were,” he added, expressing hope that “anyway, lots of citizens that are often being used to destabilize situation realize that protection of Ukraine is the top priority for each of us today, irrespective of the region he/she lives in, or the political force he/she symphonizes with.”
