“Hysteria and escalation of the situation in the Crimea are connected with signing the Association Agreement”, claimed acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, opening a plenary meeting of the Parliament on Thursday.
“All Ukrainians are outraged with further aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is an integral part of our country, and with Russia’s attempts of political annexation of the invaded territory”, he stressed.
The Chairman of the Parliament informed that yesterday a NSDC meeting was held “where a complex of diplomatic, administrative, military and technical measures aimed at counteraction to aggression of the Russian Federation was adopted.” “I am sure that today the Verkhovna Rada will express its stand directed against the invaders”, he said.
Oleksandr Turchynov also informed that illegally captured Navy Chief Commander, rear admiral Haiduk and all civil hostages, illegally seized by Russian Federation Armed Forces on the Crimea’s territory, were released this night and are on their way to Kyiv.
He reminded that he yesterday signed decrees for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine which “should sign the Association Agreement on Friday”. “This is a historic decision for the country, our historic way”, claimed Oleksandr Turchynov.
