The acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov addressed citizens of Ukraine, residing in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with a call not to participate in the so-called referendum, which a puppet pseudo-authority of Crimea, under the governance of Russian military, plans to hold on Sunday.

This was mentioned in the statement of Oleksandr Turchynov.

“This referendum violates the Constitution of Ukraine and the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and is a false one from the beginning till the end. Its conclusions will not reflect real mood of the Autonomy. We should realize that its results were previously designed in the Kremlin that needs at least one reason to officially bring its troops into our territory and start a war that will destroy people’s destinies and Crimean economic prospects,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov.

“I would like to separately emphasize that the tomorrow’s pseudo-referendum is illegitimate. It was recognized unlawful by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the most authoritative international legal institution – the Venice Commission,” noted the acting President.

Thus the only right choice on the part of Crimean people would be to ignore Kremlins provocation. I address each Crimean citizen with a call to treat their future with responsibility and not to waste on false promises that will lead region to socio-economic catastrophe,” the statement reads.
