In the course of the meeting, Parties discussed current situation in Ukraine.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, despite the aggression on the part of the Russian Federation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, situation in the country is being stabilized – “the Government is formed and governmental vertical is resumed.”

“Our main task lies in renewing country’s economy that was almost absolutely destroyed by the previous authority,” he said, stressing importance of the fact that one of the first decisions of the Government was cancellation of the Yanukovych-Azarov Resolution on termination of European integration.

“Joining the family of European countries is one of our main tasks,” stressed the Chairman of the Parliament.

On their part, representatives of the European Union reassured the new authority in their total support and condemned actions of Russian military men in Crimea.

“We are ready to further provide you with any possible support: both economic and political,” said Martin Lidegaard.

Apart from this, stressed Carl Bildt, Europe welcomes current changes in the country and “is ready to provide Ukraine with any assistance on the way to Europe.”
