Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a phone conversation with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite on Thursday.
Conversation was held during the meeting of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius at the initiative of the Lithuanian Party.
In the course of conversation, Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that Ukraine has always felt the support of Lithuania.
“Thank you for the support you have always provided to our state. It was especially vivid in past several months when you provided treatment to the injured people and helped in the negotiation process in order to stabilize situation in Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Turchynov.
In her turn, the President of Lithuania welcomed Euro-integrational aspirations of Ukrainian people and expressed support to the Ukrainian Parliament and the newly elected Government.
“I congratulate you on the election of a new Government. I want you to know that Lithuania will do everything it can in order to support Euro-integrational aspirations of Ukrainian people,” noted Dalia Grybauskaite.
