On Thursday Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov announced the formation of a coalition of deputies’ factions “European Choice” in the Parliament.

According to article 83 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov officially announced that on February 27, 2014, a coalition of deputies’ factions in the Parliament of the seventh convocation “European choice” was formed and registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat.

In the words of Oleksandr Turchynov, the coalition was formed by deputies’ factions “Batkivshchyna,” "Svoboda," “Udar of Vitalii Klychko,” deputies’ groups “Economic development” and “Sovereign European Ukraine,” and other people’s deputies. The coalition consists of 250 MPs who confirmed their consent to become the coalition members with their signatures.

“I welcome this important step, a step to a complete stabilization of the situation in our country, a complete recovery of executive authorities in the centre and locally,” claimed Oleksandr Turchynov. He noted that the coalition may increase, since not all deputies wanting to join it are now in the session hall.
