The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis and in entirety the draft law on amendments to the Law “On Amnesty in Ukraine” (re full rehabilitation of political prisoners)

At the Committee’s meeting on February 26, people’s deputy Serhii Sas noted that the bill (Reg. No. 4271) stipulates apply individual amnesty to separate persons who were prosecuted for their political and social activity.   

According to him, the aim of these amendments lies in eliminating negative consequences of criminal prosecution of these persons.

S.Sas also claimed that the bill includes 28 persons who are suggested to be released immediately applying to them full individual amnesty.

The Committee members upheld this bill unanimously.
