Wisdom of the church should help revive the state and economy and guide the country along a path of well-being and normal life.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov stressed this during the meeting with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations on Tuesday.

“People should realize that corruption and bloodshed is the result of earthliness, which has caused the tragic events in Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Turchynov. 

He thanked participants of the meeting for the priests, representatives of different denominations, were with their believers and supported them with pastoral advices during the complicated situation on Maidan. “Ukraine has demonstrated its strength, courage and invincibility. The shown courage and magnitude is, no doubt, the merit of the Church,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov.   

Chairman of the Parliament expressed hope that such meetings with the representatives of religious denominations will become systemic, so that it would be possible to discuss the most topical issues in the life of our country.
