On Monday Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov met with ambassadors of member-states of the United Nations Security Council.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed present situation in Ukraine.
According to the Chairman of the Parliament, a very dangerous economic situation has been created in Ukraine now.
“The reason for this is that for the last years the government of Yanukovych-Azarov has been living by means of borrowed money,” he said explaining that in such way “economic proportions and balances were disrupted.”
“Apart from this, political repressions and administrative terror have forced many investors to leave Ukraine,” claimed Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that after restoring executive authorities in the centre and locally, it will be possible to “start recovery of economic processes happening in Ukraine.”
“One of the main tasks of the new Government will be renewing cooperation with the IMF,” he claimed.
“Regardless of all problems, Ukraine will be moving towards building a democratic, powerful and European country,” he summed up.
In their turn, diplomats expressed their support to the new government of Ukraine.
Particularly, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Simon Smith claimed that he is authorized to express support to Ukrainian people on behalf of representatives of the international community.
“We approve your plan of restoring the country. It is a great
opportunity for Ukraine to become a really democratic state,” he claimed,
adding that the international community is ready to provide comprehensive support and assistance to
the Ukrainian government on its way of developing the country.
