As mentioned during the Committee’s meeting, the Agreement was signed on March 14, 2013 in Lutsk. The Agreement stipulates establish the Joint Ukrainian-Belarusian-Polish Commission, within a three-month period after the enactment of the Agreement, in order to mark out the junction point of the borders, as well as prepare and sign the demarcation documents: The Buh Border Sign Protocol; Demarcation junction map of the borders of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Poland; and the Final Protocol of the Joint Commission.
The delegations of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Poland held several meetings during 2005-2012, following the results of which the respective Agreement was elaborated.
The people’s deputies unanimously upheld the decision to recommend the Verkhovna Rada adopt the draft law on ratification of the Agreement (Reg. No. 0060).
The situation in the country was also being discussed in the course of the meeting. Committee members stressed that further developments could threaten Ukraine’s national security.
Following the results of discussion, the Committee will prepare the respective decision.
