The bill on amendments to the Law “On Humanitarian Assistance” in the part of exempting goods (works and services), recognized as humanitarian aid, from expenses on storage of goods and transport vehicles in customs warehouses (Reg. No. 3630) stipulates amending articles 6 and 8 of the Law “On Humanitarian Assistance” in order to exempt nonprofit organizations that receive humanitarian assistance from payment for the storage of freight in the customs warehouses that exceeds the grace period, determined by the applicable legislation.
Following the results of consideration of the alternative bills, the Committee took the decision to uphold the bill registered under No. 3389-1. The bill suggests amend part six of article 239 of the Customs Code of Ukraine by specifying that expenses of the bodies of income and levy on the storage of goods and transport vehicles, mentioned in clauses 1-5 of part one and in part five of article 238 of this Code, shall be compensated by the owners of these goods and transport vehicles, or by their authorized persons but for the cases when these goods or transport vehicles are, in the established order, recognized a humanitarian assistance.
