The Committee on National Security and Defence upholds adoption of the law on ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Slovak Republic on war graves

It was noted that the Agreement was signed on June 17, 2011 in the city of Bratislava.

Under the international act, the Contracting Parties shall identify, register, arrange and maintain war graves adhering to the requirements of this Agreement and the national legislation of the state on the territory of which these events are carried out, and with respect to religious and other traditions of their peoples.   

The people’s deputies believe that ratification of the Agreement shall promote establishment of legislative preconditions for carrying out the complex of measures on commemoration of war victims, preservation of their burial places and refinement of Ukrainian-Slovak relations.
