To the veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
citizens of the city of Kirovohrad
Dear friends!
I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of the 70th liberation anniversary of Kirovohrad from fascist invaders.
Seven decades separate us from the faraway January 1944, when the last shots were fired on the Kirovohrad land. Three days have lasted the battles for the city; more than 36 thousand of Soviet soldiers have died. However, the great feat of defenders and liberators remains an inexhaustible source of true patriotism and faithful service to our people.
Dear veterans, we are forever indebted to you for your cut short youth, for the unfinished letters, for the courage, fortitude and self-sacrifice that you have shown when fighting for your native land. Let us remember all those who have died on the front line, who have fallen in the partisan fighting, or were tortured in the concentration camps and torture chambers!
On this day I wish all those who have lived through the fire and hell of the Great Patriotic War, all the citizens of Kirovohrad sound health, family welfare, as well as long years of happy and peaceful life!
