Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak and insists on necessity of urgent investigation of the beating of journalist Tetiana Chornovil.
Answering journalists’ questions during press conference on Wednesday, Volodymyr Rybak informed that he found out about the beating today, in the morning, and had a corresponding conversation with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vitalii Zakharchenko.
Volodymyr Rybak said that according to information of V. Zakharchenko, approximately at 1:30 a.m. T.Chornovil was seriously beaten and her car was damaged. The Minister of Internal Affairs immediately formed an investigation group, and its investigators are working on this case right now.
“This case is very bad. It should be investigated completely and urgently, the guilty should be found,” stressed the Chairman of the Parliament. “Journalists and the country’s leadership should be informed.”
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, all efforts should be made in order for such cases never to happen again.
