The Committee on Judicial Policy recognized the draft law on amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (re no-recognition of subjective ideas and illegal hearsay evidence as evidence) as non-contradicting to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 2112) suggests amend article 95 and provide a new version of article 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

As mentioned during the meeting of the Committee, exclusively the laws of Ukraine determine the court system, law procedure, fundamentals of the court expertise, organization and activity of the prosecutor’s office, as well as inquiry and investigation bodies (clause 14 of part one of article 92 of the Constitution of Ukraine). Thus, the people’s deputies believe that the suggested amendments to the existing legislation conform to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
