This decision was adopted following the discussion of the issue “On editorial policy of the channel “Rada” at the Committee meeting on December 20.

During the meeting of the Committee, Mykola Tomenko stressed “unbalanced presentation of information by the parliamentary channel “Rada”, as a result of what, preference was given to presenting a point of view of the parliamentary majority and the executive authorities.”

The Committee also upheld M.Tomenko’s suggestion to form a supervisory board of the parliamentary channel consisting of people’s deputies of Ukraine (one representative from each faction, as well as non-affiliated parliamentarians). According to him, the aim of the supervisory board should be the insurance of objectiveness, credibility and impartiality of the channel’s activity.

The First Deputy Chairperson Olena Bondarenko did not uphold the suggestion and asked to include her personal point of view into the protocol regarding that the channel should adopt the abovementioned decision by itself.
