This was stressed by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak during the meeting of the All-Ukrainian round table “Let’s unite Ukraine” on Friday.
Volodymyr Rybak emphasized that despite blocking work of the Verkhovna Rada, the parliamentarians should gather on Tuesday to work since next week is the last plenary week in this year. “We should be a centre of renewing political discussion,” he claimed.
Volodymyr Rybak called all political forces not to disorganize the society with slogans because people should return to a normal life. According to him, it is necessary to calm people down so that they “don’t freeze on Maidans.”
The Chairman of the Parliament informed that on his request, sent to General Prosecutor’s Office regarding cases of beating people, he received an answer saying about opening a criminal proceeding according to the fact of misuse of power by law enforcement officials.
Moreover, touching on the issue of relations with Russia, Volodymyr Rybak noted that as of now no issues on Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union are considered. According to him, sectoral agreements ensuring operation of enterprises should be concluded with Russia.
Volodymyr Rybak expressed gratitude to organizers of the round table who provided the President, representatives of the government, of the opposition and of the civil society with the possibility to voice their opinions. “Here we were able to listen to one another,” he said expressing his confidence that ways out of the situation will be found.
