Following the results of the meeting, Volodymyr Vecherko claimed that “attention of the whole world is attached to Ukraine and one of the main government’s obligations is to ensure a transparent process of expressing will under these conditions.”

He also noted that participants of the meeting express their hope for objectiveness of the election process.

The people’s deputy informed that despite the political situation in Ukraine, preparation for elections in five “problematic” constituencies is carried out according to the schedule and within current legislation.

“As of now there are no legal, political or organizational reasons for cancelling or postponing elections of December 15, 2013. Election campaigns are conducted on a competitive basis, electoral precincts are ready to accept voters on Sunday, members of election commissions are ready for work,” said V. Vecherko.

He called participants of the meeting to objectiveness in assessment of results of Ukrainians’ expression of the will and to mutual insurance of election process legitimacy.
