To veterans, military men,

personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Dear friends!

I sincerely congratulate you on the 22nd anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On December 6, 1991 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Laws “On Defence of Ukraine” and “On the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” Since then our country has been celebrating this occupational holiday of military men.

History of establishing Ukrainian army goes back centuries, its military traditions were formed in difficult wars – starting from Kyivan Rus and until conflicts of modern times arising in different parts of the globe. Today soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine proudly continue heroic deeds of their grandfathers and fathers.

Ukrainian people pay tribute to their sons who consistently hone their military skills on training grounds of the native country and in peace-support missions outside the country. Gained experience is a great basis for further strengthening and reforming Armed Forces, harmonizing their potential with requirements and challenges of modern dynamic and restless world. I believe that Ukraine will have a mobile professional army equipped with modern armament.

I cordially wish you happiness, heroic health, new achievements in the name of Ukraine, inflexible will in overcoming obstacles of the military life, family support and peaceful sky over our blessed land!

Volodymyr RYBAK
