The agenda of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly stipulates consideration of issues regarding preparation of the meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly planned for 2014, making conclusions of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly work in 2013, particularly consideration of reports and information regarding OSCE PA work in election observation missions, etc.

In the framework of the Bureau of the OSCE PA work, Chairman of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE Oleh Zarubinskyi addressed the participants of the event with a welcome speech.

During his speech, O. Zarubinskyi particularly said that “Time and history have been harsh on aspirations of Ukrainians to independence and sovereignty.

Two last centuries of Ukrainian history are a thorny path to freedom and prosperity. Putting aside a very diverse historical background of a number of Ukrainian regions, and, as a result certain confessional, language, cultural and even mental differences, aspiration to European standards is general for everyone. This is the guarantee of no matter what obstacles and crisis do we encounter on our way, all of them will be overcome.

We appreciate the role of the OSCE PA as a unique organization which includes 57 member-states. OSCE PA potential is even more significant. The name of the organization shows which issues should be key and considerable ones – particularly security and cooperation,” stressed the Chairman of the Ukrainian Delegation in the OSCE PA.
