The Committee on Judicial Policy recognized the draft law on amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements (re strengthening responsibility for petty crimes) as corresponding to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 3327) amends article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements in order to strengthen responsibility for strong language in public places; offensive molestation and similar actions that break the public peace and order by establishing a fine in the amount of thirty to fifty citizens’ personal exemptions.

In view of the fact that the Verkhovna Rada is the only legislative body in Ukraine, one of the duties of which is to adopt laws (article 75, clause 3 of part one of article 85 of the Constitution of Ukraine), the suggested amendments to applicable legislation correspond to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
