The Parties discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia and preparation of our countries to the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius on November 28-29, this year.
In this connection, Hryhorii Nemyria wished Georgia success on its way to the EU and welcomed the future initialling of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement in Vilnius. He expressed hope that Ukraine will manage to timely fulfill criteria of the Council of the European Union (10/12/12) and the Association Agreement with the EU will be signed.
“The last week remains for fulfillment of criteria, including the release of the opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko. I hope that historic chance of Ukraine will not be wasted,” stressed the Committee Chair. “We feel for
Mikheil Ukleba noted that initialling of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement during the Summit in Vilnius will be an important step on the way to its signing in 2014. “I believe that after the Eastern Partnership Summit our states will be closer to the EU,’ he said.
Apart from this, the Parties discussed recent presidential elections in Georgia and formation of a new government.
