The Chairman of the Organized Crime Control and Anti-Corruption Committee Viktor Chumak met with the representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine

“Today anti-corruption legislature in Ukraine is developing very dynamically and thus, now we need assistance from our international partners more than ever,” stressed V.Chumak.  

During the meeting, regional director of the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) Catherine Newcombe and Legal Advisor of the Program on criminal justice reforming and fight against corruption in Ukraine Mary Butler expressed their wish to cooperate in this sphere.

The participants of the meeting also discussed current state and development of anti-corruption legislature in Ukraine, determined possible areas of cooperation between the Parliament of Ukraine and the U.S. Embassy regarding the improvement of anti-corruption policy.   

According to the Chairman of the Committee, today “the problem lies in the absence of adequate implementation of new anti-corruption legislature into Ukrainian realia.”
