The people’s deputies, representatives of central and local executive authorities and local self-government authorities, of state research and development and design institutes of urban planning, of associations, creative unions and NGOs participated in the discussion.
Opening the meeting, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee H.Zubko explained the necessity of holding a round-table discussion with the fact that since the beginning of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation work 14 bills on amendments to the Law “On regulation of urban development” have been submitted to the Committee.
The need to amend applicable legislation was argued by slow pace of renewal of urban planning documentation.
Participants of the event suggested ways of further refinement of urban planning legislation and stressed the necessity of unification of urban planning and land legislation, and establishment of the rules for using the suburban zone.
It was also suggested to amend the existing legislation in the part of introducing the procedure of elaborating plans of land and economic organization, as well as land development projects regarding territory improvement into the respective town planning documentation.
Following the results of the round table discussion, the Committee shall take the respective recommendations.
