The Committee on the Rule of Law and Justice recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to the Law “On Execution of Judgments and Implementation of Practice of the European Court of Human Rights” (re securing execution of courts’ judgments)

The bill (Reg. No. 2237) aims at eliminating gaps in legislation regarding execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in view of protection of rights and freedoms of the citizens of Ukraine.

The bill suggests amend the Law “On Execution of Judgments and Implementation of Practice of the European Court of Human Rights” in order to accelerate execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and implement the rights of citizens to fair judicial inquiry.

Generally upholding the bill, the people’s deputies expressed several remarks, particularly, of technical legal nature that will be considered when refining of the bill for the second reading.
