The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak stressed this in the interview to Rada TV Channel on Tuesday.
According to him, all the issues that were suggested to be placed on the weekly agenda were agreed during the meeting of the Conciliatory Council, amidst which there were governmental initiatives, socially oriented bills and issues suggested by representatives of opposition.
Volodymyr Rybak reminded that faction leaders suggested to grant a hearing to the information of the Ministry of Social Policy and Finance regarding fulfillment of social commitments of the state; financing of local self-government bodies; and the work of the State Treasury, etc.
He noted that during the present work day, the agenda was not approved despite the consultations that involved political faction leaders. The bill on election of Kyiv city mayor was one of the main “stumbling blocks”, said Volodymyr Rybak. Thereat, he noted that they lacked 41 opposing factions’ votes to put the bill on Kyiv mayoral elections to vote.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted also that faction leaders failed to agree on consideration of the bill on Yu.Tymoshenko’s treatment. Thereat, Volodymyr Rybak reminded that the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych claimed readiness to sign the respective law, when adopted by the Parliament.
Volodymyr Rybak informed that the Verkhovna Rada will continue its plenary work. “The Parliament should work and adopt the laws necessary to the country,” he stressed.
