The representatives of the Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation took part in the extended meeting of the Board of the State Environmental Inspectorate where the results of the work of the State Environmental Inspectorate and its territorial bodies for the period of 9 month of the current year were discussed

The Chairman of the Sub-committee on State environmental monitoring, development and use of funds for environmental protection, budgeting, environmental investments, insurance of environmental risks, the people’s deputy Volodymyr Chub claimed that the Committee and the State Environmental Inspectorate collaborate, particularly on consideration of appeals of NGOs and citizens from different regions of Ukraine.      

He drew everyone’s attention to the fact that with active participation of the State Environmental Inspectorate, the Committee considered nearly 20 letters of the Accounting Chamber, 200 appeals of citizens and NGOs. Together they organized parliamentary hearings entitled “On the status, measures and prospects of overcoming the consequences of Chornobyl Disaster”; field meetings of the Committee; the Committee hearings, etc.  

Volodymyr Chub stressed the participation of the State Environmental Inspectorate during the consideration by the Committee of over 170 bills.   

The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Secretariat of the Committee Mykhailo Borysiuk.
