The Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations recommends that the Parliament should adopt the draft resolution on Recommendations to the parliamentary hearings entitled “State of Human Rights in Ukraine”

The bill (Reg. No. 3412) stipulates adopt Recommendations according to which, the Verkhovna Rada shall ensure adoption of laws: on probation; on guaranteeing pension to the convicted while serving their sentence; on pension for persons working abroad; on freedom of peaceful assembly; on the concept of the State ethnic policy of Ukraine; on restoration of the rights of persons deported on ethnic grounds; on national-cultural autonomy; on national minorities in Ukraine.        

It is recommended that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service, and the State Penitentiary Service should take measures on prevention of cruel treatment and torturing the persons who are under control of these authorities.    

As it was mentioned during the discussion, in 2012 the Verkhovna Rada adopted several laws that would have a considerable influence on the human rights protection.
