The bill (Reg. No. 2383a) suggests subordinate the Law Order Service to the Defence Minister of Ukraine, who will govern this service. The bill suggests also appoint the Head of the General Department of Law Order Service and their assistants and heads of Central and territorial departments of the Law Order Service to the posts on the proposal of the First Deputy Chairman of the Defence Minister.
It is suggested amend articles 1 and 5 of the Law “On Military Law Order Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.
Committee members upheld the bill, adoption of which will allow improve activities of the Military Law Order Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and introduce the principle of unity of command when taking anti-corruption measures by the Defence Minister and exercising control over execution of these measures in the Secretariat of the Defence Ministry, in the enterprises, institutions and organizations that are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry.
