Committee Chairman Artur Palatnyi noted that Ukraine’s membership (since 1997) in the World Tourism Organization has significantly increased image and authority of our country in the tourism association; established pre-conditions for further development of national tourism in line with the tendencies of world tourism market; allowed involve Ukrainian tourism organizations into the informational network, progressive technologies, scientific researches, etc.  

A.Palatnyi noted that “Ukraine with its age-long traditions, original cultural heritage, and hospitable people possesses significant tourism potential”.

Taleb Rifai attached attention of those present to the fact that Ukraine, as a tourist country, has unique prospects for the future. He stressed that development of country tourism should be of top priority to the state.

The Committee Secretary Ihor Yankiv stressed that successful holding of different contests of global importance, as well as the planned 2015 European Basketball Championship will give a significant impetus for the development of tourism in Ukraine.

Following the results of discussion, the Parties agreed to provide consultative assistance on the part of the UNWTO.
