Committee on European Integration upheld several bills and discussed organizational issues on conducting parliamentary hearings entitled “Visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU: prospects and new opportunities for citizens of Ukraine”

The Committee particularly upheld the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine re changes in rates of certain taxes and fees (Reg. No. 2442a), the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine re increasing of excise tax rates for some excisable goods (Reg. No. 2876-д), the draft law on amendments to the Customs Code (Reg. No. 3199), the draft law on amendments to article 11 of the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Consumer Rights” (Reg. No. 2310a), the draft law on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine on investment protection and guarantee of limited liability companies (Reg. No. 2319) and the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts (re regulation of the activity of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in order to ensure supremacy of the Constitution of Ukraine and the rights and freedoms of citizens) (Reg. No. 2439).
The Committee did not uphold the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re implementation of the death penalty as a punishment) (Reg. No. 2128) as contradicting to the obligations of Ukraine within its membership in the Council of Europe.
During the meeting, organizational issues on conducting the parliamentarian hearings on November 6, 2013 entitled “Visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU: prospects and new opportunities for citizens of Ukraine” were discussed.
