The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine Ihor Kalyetnik said this in the interview to the Information Agency “HolosUA”.
According to him, blocking of the tribune is a survival of times past, since such actions of the people’s deputies “have lost their efficiency for they do not help achieve a specific aim”.
“I do not exclude that there might be reasons for blocking the tribune in the future, but I doubt whether there will be a possibility to do it the way it was done during the work of the first session,” said I.Kalyetnik.
He named also reasons that could provoke deputies to block the work of the Verkhovna Rada in the future.
“This could be, let’s say, dissatisfaction with the election results in five problematic districts or the issue of announcing elections in Kyiv. The reason could always be found, however, this is not the very problem it was before,” added the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
He noted also that the first working days of the third session of the Verkhovna Rada could be assessed as effective.
“Two plenary weeks were held and 24 laws were adopted in entirety, while during the first session only 9 laws were adopted and during the second – 82. We can observe quite an active dynamics and we are not talking about any blockings,” summed Ihor Kalyetnik.
