The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation upholds the draft law on amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine re allocation of rental payments for bodies of water to local budgets

The bill (Reg. No. 2374a) aims at additional pumping of local budgets at the cost of rental payments for bodies of water, located on the territory of a village, township, city, region and oblast and at increasing possibilities of local self-government in regard to arrangement of water bodies as well as their rational use.  

The Committee upholds the necessity of increasing possibilities of local self-government and of executive authorities, including their financial capacity and responsibility for the ecological state of water bodies and their balanced use.

Thereat, Committee members drew attention to the necessity of adherence to the requirements of part 7 of article 91 and of clause 5 of part 2 of article 99 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
