The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation deems the draft law on amendments to several laws of Ukraine re stimulation of production of electricity from alternative energy sources should be recommitted

The bill (Reg. No. 2946) aims at promoting practical implementation of the “green” tariff for electric power objects that produce electricity from alternative energy sources, particularly, from biomass, biogas and domestic waste. The laws “On Alternative Types of Fuel” and “On Electricity” are to be amended.

It was noted that the refined bill excludes the provision regarding co-combustion of biomass with fossil fuels. Thereat, the provision on referring domestic waste to alternative energy sources was strengthened.
