During the session, the Committee submitted for consideration by Parliament the conclusions for 30 bills of legislative acts headed by the Committee, and 63 conclusions and other legislative documents, considered more than 1100 letters and appeals from the people’s deputies, enterprises, institutions, organization and individuals.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the entirety 2 bills elaborated by the Committee, which are signed by the President of Ukraine.
In particular, the Law “On amendments to the Law “On prohibition to import and sell leaded gasoline and lead additives to gasoline on the territory of Ukraine” re aviation fuel” (No. 230-VII as of 05/14/2013) allows import and sell aviation leaded gasoline "Avgas 100 LL" on the territory of Ukraine at an annual quota amounting to 1000 tons and until the certified alternative fuel is introduced in Ukraine.
The Law “On Geodetic and Cartographic Activities" and “On Land Management” (No. 367-VII вas of 07/02/2013) determines procedure of technical and technological support of geodetic and cartographic activities, and state geodetic monitoring and monitoring the sphere of land management. According to the Law, technical support of geodetic and cartographic activities is based on usage of computing and information equipment, technical means for geodetic and cartographic works. Technological support of geodetic and cartographic activities is bases on using modern information technology and systems for creating geodetic and cartographic materials, collection, management, monitoring, storage, storing, updating, searching, transforming, processing, display, distribution and transmission of data.
A range of documents were considered within the procedure of preparation for the first reading.
During February-July 2013, the Committee organized and held parliamentary hearings: “On state, measures and perspectives of Chornobyl aftermath mitigation” (April 17) and “Environmental problems of shale gas production in Ukraine” (May 23).
The Committee also held a range of visiting meetings, in particular:
February 13 (Chornobyl, Kyiv Oblast) – “Environmental safety of the NPP, withdrawal of Chornobyl NPP, transformation of ‘Shelter’ Object into an environmentally safe system, development of social infrastructure of Slavutych”;
March 13 – (Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) – “On fulfilling conditions of privatizations (ecological measures) of Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih OJSC.” The issues of organizing monitoring system of technological part of the crust and preventing emergencies in Kryvbas; implementation of the Committee's decision "On the environmental situation in the basin Oril river", providing radiation and social protection in the areas of mining and processing of uranium ore were also discussed during the meeting.
May 18-20 (Yaremcha, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast) – “Environmental problems of the industrial complex in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and the ways to solve them”;
June 12-14 (Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast) – issues environmental problems of hydrological reserve "Molochnyi Lyman" and Molochna river and their solutions, the situation relating to flooding and in Melitopol and Melitopol region, issue of compliance of Melitopol enterprises with environmental legislation were considered.
