The Parties discussed the issue of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania and the prospects of European integration of our country, particularly, in the context of Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius and Lithuanian presidency in the EU Council (starting from July 1, 2013).
In this connection, Petras Austrevicius supported Ukraine on its way to European integration and stressed that the EU hopes that the Ukrainian Party will timely fulfill all the recommendations of the EU Council (10.12.12), required for signing the Association Agreement.
“Signing of the Agreement is possible under the condition of implementation of criteria, including settlement of the issue of politically motivated verdicts, reforming of electoral legislation, of the court and legal systems of Ukraine,” he said.
Hryhoriy Nemyrya thanked the Deputy Speaker for the support, stressing that the Parliament makes every effort within its authority to sign the Agreement.
“But there still remain things that the Government and the President should do and should do on time,” he added.
