The first meeting of the working group of the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government on elaboration and preparation of the bill on local referendum for the second reading was held

Conceptual issues of the bill (Reg. No. 0867) were discussed during the meeting. Particularly, the issue of local referendum; the subject and the procedure of exercising control over the process of initiating local referendum; participation turnout threshold in referendums and the necessary number of votes for adoption of the decision; as well as legal force of a local referendum’s decision and its place in the system of acts of bodies of local self-government. 

The issue of supplementing the bill with the provisions regarding holding the republican (local) referendum in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was discussed.

The Chairman of the subcommittee on electoral legislation and citizens’ associations Volodymyr Bondarenko held the meeting of a working group.
