The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation upholds the draft law “On amendments to legislative acts re regulation of peculiarities of functioning of national search and rescue system and sea search and rescue system”

The bill (Reg. No.2827) aims at establishing preconditions for efficient functioning of national search and rescue system at sea and ensuring constant readiness to provide help to people, sea and air crafts that are in distress on the high seas in line to Ukraine’s obligations under international agreements.

People’s deputies believe that adoption of the bill will ensure effective fulfillment of Ukraine’s international legal obligations in the sphere of merchant shipping, particularly, establishment of sea state search and rescue service.
