According to Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, regulation of the land tax for the sphere of physical culture and sports proved that "Zdorova i Sportyvna Ukraina" (Healthy and Fit Ukraine) Inter-Faction Union" was a powerful lobby of physical culture and sports at the Parliament.
Scrutinizing the draft Tax Code today, the parliamentarians upheld the amendment that enterprises, organizations, establishments, non-governmental organizations of physical culture and sports and their premises, as well as the premises of the national and international contests, and educational-training facilities of the national teams of Ukraine and sports reserve of Ukraine, athletic complexes of Olympic and Paralympic teams registered in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine are exempt from land tax, provided the corresponding sums of land tax are directed for the development of physical culture and sports in Ukraine.
"Owing to the common efforts of all the factions, we managed to change the stance of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and prevent administration of the land tax from the enterprises, organizations and establishments that develop sport culture in Ukraine", M. Tomenko emphasized.
