The Committee on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption supports the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine"

The bill (Reg. No.7280) was drafted to:

 

harmonize the commodity code listing of the Customs Tariff of Ukraine with the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System of 2007, and fulfill tariff commitments of Ukraine upon its accession to the WTO, as stated in the Protocol of Accession of Ukraine to the WTO;

 

eliminate discrepancies between the versions of the Ukrainian goods classification system for foreign economic activity of Ukraine and countries-trade partners;

 

streamline the customs clearance of goods in the foreign trade operations;

 

harmonize the rates of import duty on the products and goods with the rates set by the Schedule of the Tariff Commitments of Ukraine upon its accession to the WTO for 2011, and in the Protocol of Accession of Ukraine to the WTO.
