The European Integration Committee declared that the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Fauna" (re Strengthening of Protection and Rational Use of Fauna, and Poaching Counteraction) complied with the European Union Legislation

The bill (Reg. No.6458) supplements the effective Law with a new clause 54-A that prohibits advertising, manufacture, sale and use of poisonous and anaesthetic agents, barbed, leaden and trap-like tools of catching, electric fishing systems (electric fishing rod), explosives, bird lime and synthetic nets. The bill also prohibits import of widely-spread poaching tools: synthetic fishing nets, electric fishing-rods and traps. The amendments and supplements are also introduced to clauses 17, 19, 37, 39 44, 60, suggestions the actions to protect the fauna.

 

The People´s Deputies explained that the provisions of the bill (prohibiting advertising, manufacture, sale and use of poisonous and anaesthetic agents, barbed, leaden and trap-like tools of catching, electric fishing systems, electric fishing rod, explosives, bird lime and synthetic nets, import of widely-spread poaching tools: synthetic fishing nets, electric fishing-rods and traps, etc) do not contradict the legislation of the European Union.
