Today, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the leaders of the Sports Industry Association of Ukraine. They discussed the organization and holding of the exhibition of sports goods, services and projects to support school and grassroots sports. To be held in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 3 November, the exhibition is dedicated to the parliamentary hearings "Youth for Healthy Lifestyle."
M.Tomenko declared, "If we want to protect health of the young generation, we should invest milliards of hryvnias from the budget and as sponsorship into recreation and grassroots sports." He recommends investing into the development of new infrastructure for physical culture and sports.
M.Tomenko criticizes the strategy of the acting authorities, who invest into super expensive sports facilities for international competitions, while restoration of the facilities for physical culture and grassroots sports lacks financial support.
