Exhibition of photos and archival
documents "Human Rights in Ukraine:
the Past and the Present" will be opened in the lobbies of the 2nd
floor of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
at the address 5 Hrushevskoho St.
The exhibition was organized on the eve of the special meeting of The Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine
dedicated to the 60th anniversary of signing the Convention for the
Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of 1950.
The exhibition presents photos and working materials of the USSR delegation in the United Nations that partook in the drafting of the Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the materials connected with the ratification of the Convention and activity of the Ukrainian Parliament for the protection of human rights.
Publications from the Verkhovna Rada library, the National Parliamentary Library and the National Historical Library of Ukraine are presented.
The exhibition was organized by the Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat with assistance of the Central Documents Provision Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, the Sector State Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Central State Archive of the Supreme Authorities and Administration of Ukraine, the Central H.S.Pshenychnyi State Cinema-Photo-Phone Archive of Ukraine, and the Central State Archive of Non-Governmental Organizations of Ukraine.
