The Foreign Affairs Committee recommends that the Parliament ratifies the Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova on Cooperation in the Provision of Rights of Persons representing National Minorities

Ratification of the Agreement will extend the scope of humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova as to the provision of rights of person identifying themselves as national minorities, arrangement of conditions for preservation and development of their ethnical, cultural, linguistic and religious identity.  

 

Under the Agreement, the Parties cooperate on the principles of equity, reciprocity, and consideration of interests of both states in the provision of the right for free development of the national minorities residing in their territories.

 

The Parties guarantee observance of civic, political, social, economic and cultural rights and freedoms of the persons representing national minorities in accordance with the international standards on human rights protection and national laws.  

 

A relevant bill was registered under Reg.No. 0181.
